Internet and Burger King (Day 6)

The 6th day. I needed the internet anyway….so went to the reception to ask about it, and found out that the service is offered for free only for summer season. Lucky! The receptionist gave me a LAN cable as well… which was extremely short. 1m? Connecting to the net, the first thing I searched was where Burger King is lol …I like fast foods. And prefer BK. In the UK, I think BK is much better than mac. The nearest one is in Waterloo station! Oh I remember, a few years ago,  I went there with my friends before taking […]

Elephant & Castle (Day 5)

The fifth day. Finally checking out from the hotel, I went to the hall of residence. The area I will live in is just 5 mins away from the university. Which means, I don’t need to spend much money for transport! And I can oversleep in the morning! Yes! I was told that the area was a bit dodgy… but actually I was so surprised that there are so many people from other countries. Is it really the U.K. here? Well, that’s not a problem…but I didn’t like the scenery so much…and there is a big round-about just in front […]

My good choices

The fifth day…well just before writing about it, these are the things I thought good choices to bring to the U.K. after arriving here. 1. Slippers Even the hotel didn’t provide slippers. They are so useful after moving into the hall too. A colleague gave me this, soft, cute slippers. So comfortable! 2. Cosmetics trial kit The first few days are rather tiring, so these things are really useful to be relaxed after taking shower. I like these “trial” things anyway. At the moment I’m using “Makanai Cosme”, but it’s really good. It has cleansing, soap, toner and oil and […]

Typical tourist day (Day 4)

The fourth day. I went a typical tourist course. Along with Thames, I went to Westminster. To see Big Ben, of course! I know it’s toooo common, but I can’t feel like I’m in London without seeing it. Even at the first sight from a distant, it looks so great. From a closer distant, it looks great too. It looks much better than how it looks in photos. Words can’t describe this. …I took this picture without thoughts, so CCTV has got into the frame… well, it means a lot anyway… By the way, this is very typical as well, […]

Winsor Castle! (Day3)

It’s the 3rd day. I started to feel like I wanted to go out for sight-seeing. For some reasons I had to stay at the Park Inn, so I decided to go to Winsor Castle, which I heard it was close to Heathrow. I knew nothing about it other than “it’s the Queen’s residence”. No map. No internet means no information. I went to Heathrow anyway expecting trains from there. At first I went to the central bus station near to Terminal 1/2/3, but was told to go to Terminal 5. And at Terminal 5, I finally found out that […]

Still feeling bad

The second day. Although I started to feel enthusiastic a bit, now I suffer from jet lag. Waking up at 3:00am, (this is like I sleep over until 11:00 in Japan) having a breakfast around 7 (which is like late breakfast in Japan), having a lunch around 13:00 (dinner), and I feel sleepy around late afternoon. Perhaps as I am tensed a bit as well, I couldn’t get out from this loop for the first few days. But I need to move anyway! The place I went first was Heathrow. 0.3 miles is not far to take buses, so I […]
