FireFox Plug-in, “Feedly”

‘m trying to find a part-time job at the moment, and want to save some money so tend to stay at home… Umm, it’s not good, I should be more active! Maybe I should try planting at least one seed/day. By the way, I started to use a Firefox plug-in called “feedly“. I really like it! It re-format the feeds from your google reader to “magazine site” look. Actually the change it makes is not that complicated, it’s just about things like font, margin, size, it’s so simple! But these small changes make articles much more readable. I think feedly […]

Desgree Show, finishing the course, etc.

The course finished last week. One year was so quick! For the last project, we made an iPhone application called “Alight”. Alight is an application to allow users to associate their small ideas in daily life with particular location, so that they will have more chanced to develop them further. I was in charge of interface design. I know iPhone is not small as mobile phone, but still designing menu for small screen was good learning for me. We used 50inch plasma TV for the degree show, so I had to edit some footages (which I hadn’t done for a […]

searchWiki

I tried to use searchWiki by google yesterday! So what you need to do is just logging in to google account, and you will find some unfamiliar links next to the result of search. One is to “pick up” and one it to “delete” the result. Now we had a question. It looks this feature works only for exact the same query. Which means, even if you delete one of the results for a query “noodle”, when you try “noodle Japanese”, the deleted result comes up again. …isn’t it a bit irritating? So our main opinion was “well….I wouldn’t use […]

Laws of Simplicity

As this books hasn’t been translated into Japanese, I reluctantly started to read it in English. And finally I finished it!!! John Maeda, a professor at the media labo in MIT, writes about “simplicity”. Althought the volume of the book itself it not so big…. …Difficult! So difficult! He uses a lot of examples of product design such as iPod or B&O, but some of stories are rather phylosophical matters based on his life experiences. Well, my English ability is not good enough, that’s all. He says: “Simplicity and complexity need each other.” “What lies in the periphery of simplicity […]

Is this iTunes’s bug???

I’m enjoying Radiohead on big volume now. An annoying week finally ended. Unknown bugs and errors, working for 33hours without sleeping, argueing with sales reps…Sorry I can’t reply to your messages. I don’t have much energy on weekdays… Well, now I’m using iTunes but…I can’t see the reason, perhaps the recent update, but it changes its ganre into Japanese words. I mean, it changes “Rock” to “ロック”(katakana, Japanese) automatically. I changed the language setting to “English” and now it looks OK. Is it a bug? Or software’s specification? Isn’t it annoying a bit?
