Mulled Wine

A small story before writing about Fransis Bacon. When I went to a house warming party of my friend on the other day, I tried “mulled wine”. Red wine + clementine + cinnamon and make it hot? I didn’t know about it before, but I really liked it. Their house was amazing by the way….big rooms, clean, cool designed kitchen, barbecue place in the garden… I was just jealous! It was so different from our small, dirty, hall of residence…

Birthday in London

It’s more than 1 week ago already, but it was my 2*th Birthday! I say thanks to everyone who sent me message! On that day, I went to Fortnum & Mason for lunch with my boyfriend. There are some restaurants and cafes inside the shop, but we went to the one called “The Gallery”. We had nice wine and extremely yummy lamb, and I felt so happy~~~. I’m sure foods are important for our mental health! After that, we were going to Kew Garden but unfortunately it was freezing on that day, so went to V&A museum after that. I’d […]

onedotzero 08 (2)

So, the onedotzero report No.2. For some reasons, I went to see another movie named “j-star08” on Sunday. It consists of short motion graphics by 20 Japanese creators, including music video, short animation, adverts etc… and it was much better than I expected! The director of the event talked at the beginning, but he said he liked Japanese film directors and is still interested in Japanese movie creators, and direct this j-star for onedotzero. I’m really happy to hear someone is interested in Japanese creators. So, we had these movies. Yoshiyuki Komatsu [Power Graphics] : “asadoya yunta” Takeo Hatai : […]

onedotzero 08 (1)

I went to see the event “onedotzero” last weekend with my friends. It’s an event of “motion image”, and it seems it was held in Japan last year as well. As the website says “There are some interactive installations”, so I was so looking forward to it. But they are not so big… I’d like to upload some of them. So, the film we saw was called “Tokyo!” by three creators including Michel Gondry. Each three world was extremely funny and weird, but I still thought they captured some aspects of Tokyo sharply. I like the one by Michel Gondry […]

Course Start

The course started from last Monday.  The first week was induction…introduction of the course,  introducing each other, tour of the school etc… Reading the syllabus, I felt sure that I would never get bored for the year. Every lecture looks interesting, they are exactly what I wanted to study  (= skills and information I need). The schedule is online,  and can check it lively and it looks we can use course wiki as well. Outside the school, the group on facebook was created and everyone is online! Ummm…the world is getting so convenient now…. The presentation each member gave using website contents was so interesting as […]

BBC iPlayer, Sky News and London Paper

Because I don’t have my TV in my room, one of my concern was how I can get everyday information. I usually use BBC iPlayerand Sky News. Although I don’t remember how the previous BBC site was, I read an article saying their re-design was really successful. They are broadcasting their programmes of the past one week. But, perhaps because of the speed of the connection, usually it doesn’t connect to the site… Also, it seems some people argue about the traffic problem. On the Sky News, you can watch some 2~3mins news, but what I like about it is […]
