Christmas in the UK

Another different talk before Fransis Bacon. Christmas in the UK. It was in summer when I came here, so I was feeling like Christmas was still far away, but it’s so quick the time flows. It was the second time for me to stay Christmas in the UK, but it was really fun again! One thing I’m always amazed is how early they start enjoying Christmas. Shops start to display Christmas decoration in November, and for the last one week, all the music I heard was Christmas songs. I don’t want to hear them for a while. Sorry. I really […]

Mulled Wine

A small story before writing about Fransis Bacon. When I went to a house warming party of my friend on the other day, I tried “mulled wine”. Red wine + clementine + cinnamon and make it hot? I didn’t know about it before, but I really liked it. Their house was amazing by the way….big rooms, clean, cool designed kitchen, barbecue place in the garden… I was just jealous! It was so different from our small, dirty, hall of residence…

Birthday in London

It’s more than 1 week ago already, but it was my 2*th Birthday! I say thanks to everyone who sent me message! On that day, I went to Fortnum & Mason for lunch with my boyfriend. There are some restaurants and cafes inside the shop, but we went to the one called “The Gallery”. We had nice wine and extremely yummy lamb, and I felt so happy~~~. I’m sure foods are important for our mental health! After that, we were going to Kew Garden but unfortunately it was freezing on that day, so went to V&A museum after that. I’d […]

To study English and to study in English

It’s been four weeks since the course started. Still suffering from a lack of English ability, I’m enjoying the course anyway. So today I’d like to write about studying English and studying in English. To be honest, I don’t like studying English. I really don’t understand grammar or these things. But the reason why I still challenging it is because I can see a lot of new world if I can use English properly. “New world” could have some different meaning, but what I’m trying now, studying in English, is one of them. I know, it’s really tough, especially if […]

Course Start

The course started from last Monday.  The first week was induction…introduction of the course,  introducing each other, tour of the school etc… Reading the syllabus, I felt sure that I would never get bored for the year. Every lecture looks interesting, they are exactly what I wanted to study  (= skills and information I need). The schedule is online,  and can check it lively and it looks we can use course wiki as well. Outside the school, the group on facebook was created and everyone is online! Ummm…the world is getting so convenient now…. The presentation each member gave using website contents was so interesting as […]

The fight against PIN

Well, this is not related to London, but… Since I came here, I needed to open new accounts a lot such as bank or mobile. The problem is always password or PIN. I can’t remember which one was for what, and I got locked out from the online banking a few days ago, and from my mobile as well. For online banking, I need ID number and PIN as well as “memorable word”, and have to type them all the time to log in. But they set lots of rules such as “within *** words” or type of characters or […]
